Beccles Open Gardens
This event ran in 2017 but we don't yet have this year's details. When we get them, we'll add them, but in the meantime we include below event information from last year to remind you about the event.
Beccles, Waveney Valley, west of Lowestoft, Suffolk
Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July 2017
11.00am to 5.00pm
A range of gardens and outdoor spaces of interest will be open again this year as part of Beccles Charter Weekend 2017, with an opportunity to view some of the smaller, 'secret gardens' in historic Beccles. We will also have a quiz to encourage the widest use of our weekend entry ticket.
The Beccles Museum is opening especially to be our Headquarters. In addition, we will have craft activities at St Michael's Church, while Hipperson's Boatyard will have entertainments and events. Refreshments will be available at these three locations. We plan to have boat trips on the River Waveney, between Hipperson's and Beccles Lido, which will give unusual views of the riverside gardens. Community transport will be provided for those less able to walk between town locations.
Ten outdoor spaces of interest will also be open.
Proceeds this year will go to local charities as well as the NSPCC.
Cost: £6.00 per adult for a weekend pass, accompanied under 16s free.
How to get event passports: Entry maps will be available on both days from our headquarters at the Beccles Museum, 18 Ballygate from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Information and tickets will also be available at St Michael's Church, Hippersons' Boatyard, and Beccles Library.
