Wells Open Gardens
This event rested in 2017 so we don't have any recent event details. When we get updated information, we'll add it here, but in the meantime we include below event information from a previous year to remind you about the event.
Sunday 12th June 2016
2.00pm to 6.00pm
St. Thomas Street and Tor Street are opening their gardens. Both are situated at the east end of Wells, behind the Cathedral, in what used to be a neighbourhood inhabited by artisans, washer-women and ladies of ill-repute. It is an area with great charm and lots of delightful gardens of all shapes and sizes. Included in the gardens will be one belonging to Wells Cathedral School.
This year we are celebrating the 90th birthday of our Queen. Enjoy our gardens and make time for tea and delicious home-made cakes in the beautiful Community Garden in Tor Street.
Proceeds to Cancer Research UK.
Plant sales: Plants will be on sale from the Tor Street Community Garden.
Cost: £5.00 adults, accompanied children free.
How to get event passports: Buy tickets on the day from various houses on St Thomas Street including outside the Church, at number 43 and in the Tor Street Community Garden.
