The Magnificent Secret Gardens of Old Town Bridlington. Merchants would stand in the gardens of their palatial Georgian houses to watch ships arriving at Bridlington harbour.
The Old Town is one of the most complete Georgian high streets in Britain, with some of the most beautiful gardens around. There are small secret gardens too, hidden courtyards, antique shops, galleries and tea rooms.
This year, The Old Town Summer Festival Day is on 11th June (with a 1940s theme) - one of the best Festivals in Yorkshire, the biggest Summer Festival on the Yorkshire Coast, and one of the friendliest.
Most recently the high street in Old Town has been used for the filming of Dad's Army with an all star hollywood cast. Old Town was transformed to Walmington-on-Sea.
