Peaslake Open Gardens
Peaslake, southeast of Guildford, Surrey
Sunday 11th June 2017
12.00noon to 4.30pm
The annual Peaslake Open Gardens is a fantastic opportunity to see some of Surrey's best kept gardens. The beautiful village of Peaslake is tucked away at the foot of the Hurtwood Forest in the Surrey Hills, offering stunning views and a wealth of beautiful gardens, with everything from manicured lawns and structured flowerbeds to carefully planned wilder plots.
The event visits different parts of the village each year to give returning visitors, of which there are many, a different experience year on year. This year's event is in the area surrounding Peaslake Free School.
It will incorporate some gardens which have been seen before, such as the stunning Kendrew House, and some new properties we are delighted to welcome on board for the first time including Mouse's Hollow and Hoe House. Lark Rise will also be opening on the day as part of the National Garden Society so that will be a bonus garden for anyone keen to visit a spectacular site. Separate tickets will need to be purchased for Lark Rise.
Our route this year will be a little further spread out so we could include some popular gardens that were keen to open again such as Bearwood on Plaws Hill, where there will also be a jazz band. As we are a hilly little village and access between the gardens is on foot only, do bring appropriate footwear.
The base for this event will be at Peaslake Free School on Colman's Hill. At the base as usual, you will be able to refuel in between gardens on our fabulous Peaslake Home Baking, all washed down with a good cuppa of course! We will also have tasty home produce and lots of activities for any little gardeners that you bring along. Please note that dogs are not allowed into the gardens.
Proceeds to Peaslake Free School with plant sale proceeds to Peaslake School and the Gardening Association.
