Bedminster Secret Gardens
Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd June 2018
12.00noon to 5.00pm
When you think of Bedminster, Bristol, what do you think of? Terraces of brick houses with tiny gardens, small yards and doors that open on to the street? Have you ever wondered what's hidden behind the houses? They might be small, but they're perfectly formed.
Get inspiration, enter a world of plants and see creative, productive and beautiful gardens. Take a look through the keyhole - you'll be surprised at what you find.
This summer, local people will be opening their back gates so that you can discover the secret gardens of Bedminster, Southville and Ashton. Many gardens will be opening for the first time. You can visit gardens on both days (some gardens will open on one day only - see guide for details).
All proceeds to the patchwork community gardening group who transform and maintain small patches of abandoned land across Bedminster into small gardens for all to enjoy.
Plant sales: Plant sales available at some gardens.
Cost: Guide and map free but suggested minimum donation of £2.00 per person.
How to get event passports: Guide and map to gardens open available from Tobacco Factory Market stall, Raleigh Road, on the day or Southville Centre, Beauley Road from the beginning of May.
Number of gardens: Approximately 25 gardens will be open, but the total may vary from day to day - please contact the organisers if you need exact numbers.
