Cadney and Howsham Open Gardens
This event rested in 2017 so we don't have any recent event details. When we get updated information, we'll add it here, but in the meantime we include below event information from a previous year to remind you about the event.
Cadney and Howsham, near Brigg, North Lincolnshire
Sunday 12th June 2016
11.00am to 5.00pm
A good range of gardens will be open around the two neighbouring villages of Cadney and Howsham. Howsham is the current CPRE Northern Lincolnshire Joint Best Kept Village competition champion in the Previous Winners category.
Both villages will have lots of red, white and blue planting throughout as we celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday. Grade 1 listed Cadney church is one of the oldest churches in the area and well worth a visit, the church will have a lovely flower display. Traditional games and cream teas will be found in some of the gardens, plus raffle, tombola, cakes and refreshments etc in Howsham Village Hall. Refreshments will also be available at Cadney church hall. A free minibus service will run throughout the day to take visitors between Cadney and Howsham, and visitors are encouraged to park in Howsham and take the bus to Cadney. For younger visitors there will be lots of ducks of all shapes and sizes in gardens and public spaces, each with a clue, those completing the free treasure trail can claim a (chocolate) gold coin at Howsham village hall or Cadney church hall. The event will be opened by Baroness Redfern.
All proceeds are to be shared between local good causes including Howsham Village Hall, Cadney church, Howsham Park, our local LIVES group and Lindsey Lodge Hospice.
