Clavering Country Gardens and The LIttle House

Clavering Village's glorious gardens, some totally new, from small and beautiful with unusual plants to an acre with stunning views over the medieval heart of Clavering.
Come and see The Little House (open), built 1750, the smallest thatched cottage in England, also Essex Beekeeping Demonstrations with glass observation hive.
Chestnut Cottage by the Ford, sweeping lawns and flower borders on different levels, lots of winding pathways and seats. Rose Cottage, packed with special plants and a fun model railway shed. Blacksmiths, the former village smithy, unusual roses, ornamental trees and shrubs. The ancient Clavering Guildhall (never open before), a timeless, meandering traditional garden still as advised by the National Trust, Brooklands, whose owner is a garden designer, and Piercewebbs, a big formal walled garden, yew topiary, rose garden, ha ha, stilt hedge, pond and landscaped field walk with wonderful views.
Teas, morning coffee, home-made cakes, Cream Teas, light refreshments all day.
All proceeds to Saffron Walden MENCAP Society.
Plant sales: Plants, summer bedding, climbers and shrubs from £1.00.
Cost: £5.00 per adult, accompanied children free, and includes The Little House, beekeeping display etc.

Directions: From the B1383, follow signs to Newport/Clavering; from the A10, the B1038. Parking in Middle Street or adjacent lanes, or ample at nearby Fox and Hounds pub (also lunches here).
