 approx 20 gardens opened Pakenham, near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

12.00noon to 6.00pm

Pakenham is a small village in West Suffolk a few miles north east of Bury St Edmunds. Noted as a village with two working mills. The watermill is run by a trust of volunteers and produces acclaimed wholemeal flour. (Hairy Bikers amongst others). The windmill stands proudly overlooking 'The Fen' a SSSI site of grasses and orchids and The Mickle Mere wetland.

More than 20 gardens will be open on the day with signage boards and a directions map. Many tea and cake stops at convenient locations - The Village Hall, Water Mill Tearoom, Bill and Ben's Nursery, and more.

Good car parking near to the gardens. Local produce and award winning ice creams, along with excellent cakes.

Proceeds will be divided equally between Pakenham Village Hall and Macmillan Cancer.

Plant sales:  There will be plant sales around the village from enthusiastic gardeners.

Cost:  5.00 adults, children under 12 free.
