Wivenhoe Open Gardens
This event ran in 2017 but we don't yet have this year's details. When we get them, we'll add them, but in the meantime we include below event information from last year to remind you about the event.
Wivenhoe, near Colchester, Essex
Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st May 2017
11.00am to 5.00pm
Wivenhoe Open Gardens is a popular summer event in this village-like town, set on the River Colne in north-east Essex.
Around two dozen gardens, large and small, will be open, demonstrating the range of terrain from woodland to waterside, and the ingenuity of the gardeners. Several new gardens are opening this year.
Teas, other refreshments, plants for sale and displays of arts and crafts can be enjoyed in some of the gardens; there will be a produce stall, and the church will be open both days.
This is one of the early Open Gardens weekends, so start your summer in Wivenhoe!
Proceeds are shared between St Mary's Church and local causes chosen each year by The Wivenhoe Society.
Plant sales: At some of the gardens.
Cost: £5.00 for the weekend (includes programme), accompanied children free.
How to get event passports: Tickets available from 4 shops in Wivenhoe (see local posters) from early in May, and at the Open Weekend itself, or contact below.
