11 gardens on show in this picturesque stone village at the foot of the Mendip Hills.
Historic Mells Manor this year includes the rarely open South Court (plans by Lutyens, executed by Norah Lindsay) which is being restocked along the original lines plus its newly restored kitchen garden. Also on view are abundantly planted cottage gardens of all shapes and sizes, veg and chickens.
Reasonably priced home made lunches and teas will be served in the Tithe Barn as well as a wider range of tempting hot and cold food and drinks in Mells Cafe.
All profits will go to community-run Mells Village Shop and Cafe.
Plant sales: NW Plants plant stall featuring hardy herbaceous perennials and shrubs outside Mells Village Shop. Village plant stall outside Tithe Barn.
Cost: £5.00 combined ticket with map, accompanied children free.
How to get event passports: Combined ticket gives entry to all gardens and is available in advance from Mells Village Shop or on the day from the stall outside.
