Hull: Avenues Open Gardens

approx 35 gardens open Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire
Sunday 28th June and Sunday 5th July 2026 (two separate days)
1.00pm to 5.00pm

Every year since 1976 residents of the conservation area known as the Avenues open their gardens to the public to raise money for charity.

We have a huge number of gardens opening with a massive diversity of gardening styles complimented by interesting and unique local Victorian and Edwardian architecture. The gardens vary in size and many are large with some going back 150 feet. There will be an open allotment and a community wildlife garden which is managed by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.

Mainly built between 1875 and World War I, the Avenues were given conservation area status due to the unique features of the area and distinctive architecture and gardens.

Teas, cakes, and art on show, music and other community events also happen over these two weekends that celebrates this distinctive community in Hull.

Please note that we have a second opening on 5th July.
