Brompton is a village of stone cottages and houses through which a beck babbles. It is on the edge of the North York Moors and has two claims to fame. William Wordsworth married Mary Hutchinson in the 12th century village church (which will be open) and Sir George Cayley invented the first flying machine here.

Light refreshments available at Brompton Village Hall.

Proceeds:  Proceeds to the Church and the Village Hall.

Cost:  £5.00 adults, accompanied under 16s free.

Directions / Parking:  Turn South off the A170 or North from the A64. The Village Hall is in the square below the (closed) Cayley Arms and opposite the Community Primary School.
