Goring-on-Thames and Streatly Open Gardens

approx 13 gardens open Goring on Thames and Streatly, Oxfordshire
Saturday 20th June 2026
1.00pm to 5.00pm

The picturesque and historic villages of Goring-on-Thames and Streatley straddle the river Thames at The Goring Gap between Oxford and Reading. Both villages enjoy wonderful countryside and stunning views of The Goring Gap, being uniquely situated within both The Chilterns and The North Wessex Downs Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

As part of the Gap Festival 2026, explore a range of inspirational village gardens in a mix of styles and sizes from modern to traditional, from small intimate courtyard gardens to a large parkland setting with a Jubilee avenue of limes, and two that are next to the Thames.

The villages are quite large and long and are separated by two bridges over the river Thames. The gardens are spread from one end to the other so you can have an active afternoon looking at all of the gardens or plot a much smaller route for just a few. A map of the gardens will be available to download nearer the time.

Goring Gap in Bloom is the proud recipient of several Royal Horticultural Society Gold Awards.

Other attractions include afternoon teas at three of the venues. Our website details what other fun events, arts and crafts, food and entertainment are happening.
