Kirk Ireton Hill Top Open Gardens
Kirk Ireton, near Wirksworth, Derbyshire Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June 2025 1.00pm to 5.00pm
Enjoy an afternoon or two in a beautiful old Derbyshire village, nestling on a hillside above the Ecclesbourne Valley.
We are inviting you to view gardens of all shapes and sizes, including some new ones, in our spectacular hill top location. Gardens include 'Cashel', well known for its ravine garden.
Cream Teas and other treats will be there for you, plus plant sales will add to the garden celebrations. Find out the perils and delights of gardening at plus 700+ feet, often with splendid views. Expect steep gradients and narrow lanes in this small village with suprising gardens.
Proceeds All proceeds shared between the Church, village organisations and local charities.
Plant sales Plant sales at various gardens and at Cashel.
Cost £5.00 adults, covers both days, accompanied under 14s free.
How to get tickets / programmes Map and wristband available from Kirk Ireton Community Shop, Main Street, next to The Barley Mow pub. This is also a good starting point.
Number of gardens Approximately 16 gardens will be open, but the total may vary from day to day - please contact the organisers if you need exact numbers.

Directions / Parking Kirk Ireton is 4 miles south of Wirksworth, situated at the south east end of Carsington Water. Approach on Wood Lane off the B5023, Wirksworth to Derby Road.Or on Gibfield Lane off the reservoir dam road. Access is on unclassified single track lanes and is not suitable for caravans. Follow signs and marshalls' directions for plentiful organised parking spaces. Please leave limited parking on the Main Street to those with most need.
